Ripple Labs is one of the most important companies involved in the cryptocurrency space, as it is responsible for developing the Ripple payment protocol and exchange network. Ripple is a real-time settlement system that enables instant and secure transactions. Its token, XRP, is the third largest cryptocurrency, with a market capitalization of over $20 billion.
Even though it might be well-known among cryptocurrency investors/traders, the California startup has taken the opportunity to launch an ad campaign that playfully conveys the way that money is traditionally sent across the globe.
The ad is entitled “Faster Cross Border Payments Shouldn’t Require A Boarding Pass” and has 12,000 views on YouTube. The ad clearly mocks the traditional financial system, showing the employee mountain climbing, paddling a boat, and traversing through the jungle, in order to finally hand off a briefcase of money to the recipient.
