It looks as though the art world is increasingly open to blockchain as the Tretyakov Gallery, one of the largest museums in Russia, is planning on launching a platform called “My Tretyakov.” The platform will be based on blockchain technology and allow individuals and businesses to actually digitize artwork from the gallery after donating money. This would then allow the art to become more accessible globally.
The platform is meant to increase art patronage, although it is still unclear the amount that patrons can donate. The Tretyakov Gallery director had this to say about the project – that the intention was “to make Russian art an important part of the daily life of people around the world.”
